As a child she just loved to draw and paint.
As a young adult she just never had time to do either.
Carol was born and raised in Michigan. She married young, had a family, and lived on a farm. The farm had lots of animals and very large gardens. And that's pretty much how she spent her time--children, family, animals, and gardens.
Later, with the children older and not demanding of so much of her time, Carol began to work full-time during the day. And, finally, began to paint in the evenings. And she has been doing so ever since she began painting in 1989.
She now lives in Fremont, Indiana, in a cabin overlooking Lake James.
Carol is drawn to what she sees in the heartland of America,. . .farms, barns, animals, small towns, people at work and at play. Often she draws inspiration for her paintings from the Amish community nearby.
Carol paints with hardedge definition and exacting detail. Everything she sees makes its way onto the canvas. In that respect her paintings are often likened to paintings by Charles Wysocki and Kathy Jakobsen.
Carol paints on canvases that are pre-stretched, and thus continues the paintings around all four sides of the stretched canvas, creating a three-dimensional effect when the painting is approached from the side.
