Polly is a happy hooker.
And you know that immediately just by looking at her rugs.
Polly works very much in the ways of the women who hooked rugs a century ago--she designs her own rugs, gets her fabric by cutting old wool garments into strips, and then hand-hooks the strips on burlap in order to create her hooked rug. And, like her early American counterparts, Polly draws her inspiration from her love of home, family, nature and country,. . .which is, of course, why she is such a happy hooker.
Polly began hooking rugs in 1984. Her rugs have appeared in many magazines devoted to art and home life, including Country Home, Better Homes and Gardens, Colonial Home, Coastal Living, and Victoria. Articles about Polly and her rugs have also appeared in The New York Times, the Houston Chronicle and the Georgetowner.
